Hexham Racecourse Hit By A Storm

Hexham Racecourse experienced some strong weather conditions today when “Storm Rocco” hit the north east track at approximately 1.22pm.

The 7 year old Rocco Storm went into the 16th start of his career in Ireland & England as a maiden but emerged without that tag in good style following a convincing 12 length win in the 0-100 handicap chase.

Always in touch with the leaders, jockey Henry (Brooke) had Rocco in a prominent position when a huge leap at the final open ditch propelled the pair to dispute the lead. Thereafter they went to the front two out and extended away easily for a comfortable win.

Rocco’s jumping throughout had been exemplary and he’d come into the race in great form with himself. That said, a far from straightforward journey to the track had caused some pretty anxious moments for Kev & Julia….

We couldn’t be more pleased for the horse as he really deserved this day (& is quite rightly very suited with himself now he’s back at home), as did his brilliant “RolyPoly” owners. Moreover special mention has to go to Kev who rides Rocco every day – Happy Birthday Kev, this one’s gift wrapped from Rocco to you!

I am a WINNER!!
