This week we were delighted to welcome two new equine arrivals (and one new Owner) to the yard :-
and
Both horses come with experience & form on the flat, and we are looking forward to introducing them to jumping as & when they have settled in and are ready. They are both a great addition to the yard.
Walk Like A Giant is currently stabled next to Stags Leap who is enjoying inducting him into the ways of Brough Farm, and giving him the low down on who’s who & what’s what.

Happy New Year and apologies for the lack of news content in recent weeks….for that we firmly blame the weather!
Fortunately we are not under water, although some trips to the gallops on the Moor have been interesting – one or two of the horses were convinced they were going to be asked to swim when encountering the flooding on the road into Middleham for the first time.
Unfortunately the prolonged and persistent rain has put paid to many of our race plans either by way of the meeting being called off, or “heavy” featuring too often in the going description.
Alf (Ashes Corner) packed his water wings and braved the conditions to run at Kelso on 29th December – his effort was too poor to be true and although he finished, he scoped dirty the next day. It was a relief to find a cause as he’s a much better horse than his run suggested.
Smadynium, Ray (Raid Stane), Spifer and Sohcahtoa are all ready to run so the Racing Fixtures and Met Office weather reports are being equally scrutinised on a daily basis in a bid to find suitable races / conditions.
In the meantime we are ticking over and remain optimistic that Spring is on the way….
