Vasco puts Ayr between himself & his rivals

Winning @ Ayr 14-02-17

Vasco D’Ycy made an emphatic winning return to the racecourse at Ayr yesterday in a 2m4f (0-100) Handicap Hurdle.

Off the track for some 588 days, he travelled strongly throughout the race under our Conditional jockey, Ross Turner, and the pair drew clear after the last for a comprehensive 6 length victory.

Vasco is the first horse that Kiel & Lyndsay Ward of KSW Engineering (Yorkshire) Ltd have owned and was unfortunate to suffer a chip to a bone in his knee which meant this was only his second ever start for them. They have shown immense patience and faith, not just in the horse but also the yard (KSW Engineering is our yard sponsor), so we are absolutely delighted that they have been rewarded in such a deserving manner.

And judging by his strutting demeanour; post race, on arrival back at the yard last night, and today out in the paddock…. Vasco is also pretty delighted with himself – so he should be!
