Reminding made his racecourse debut in a high quality National Hunt Flat Race at Wetherby on Saturday.

A bit wide eyed when coming off the horsebox, he then settled quickly into his stable from where he could see other horses coming and going.

From being saddled (in the stable) to walking round the pre-parade and then into the parade ring itself, he was a model of calmness to everyone’s delight and relief!

Our Conditional, Ross Turner, made sure he had a proper introduction to a race by keeping him mid division in the pack of horses and even despite being bumped as they turned into the home straight Reminding wasn’t deterred and held his place. As the leaders (& older, more experienced horses) turned the last two or three furlongs into a bit of a sprint on the sticky ground, he couldn’t quite kick with them but galloped on for a very creditable 7th place, not far behind the first six and some 14 lengths ahead of the next placed horse (and the rest) behind him.

He had a good blow post race and then proceeded to be very pleased with himself, so a really positive experience all round….. and extremely happy Owners!
