Glengarry Wins At Redcar
Glengarry provided Danny with his first flat turf winner on Tuesday when winning the 0-60 handicap over one mile at Redcar by a cosy neck!
Given a “typical Graham Lee ride” by the man himself, it was made to look easy when in reality it shouldn’t have been – with Glengarry off top weight in a field of 20 runners.
Held up at the rear of the field for three quarters of the race, Glengarry made smooth headway 2f out. Graham then switched him left and got to work over 1f out, whereupon the horse kept on well inside the final furlong to lead just 11o yards from the line. It was a cool and exceptionally well measure ride from the jockey, on a willing partner.
Happily connections of Glengarry were able to attend and very much enjoyed the day’s racing, and Redcar’s excellent hospitality, in circumstances that are finally starting to feel like a return to normality.
