Gary takes a Short Flight to Doncaster

Gary the Shetland packed his haynet and chaperoned Short Flight to Doncaster races on Monday.

Short Flight was making his debut in a 2m Novice Hurdle in the ownership & colours of our yard sponsor KSW Engineering (Yorkshire) Ltd. It was also his first appearance on a British racecourse having only previously run in an Irish point-to-point .

He dealt with the preliminaries well and, ridden by Henry, he jumped a little big & green in the race but handled the conditions and will have learnt a lot from the experience. So overall we were delighted with his first effort.

In fact Short Flight was so chilled out on arrival at the course, and with Gary stabled next door, that he even lay down & had 40 winks in his box prior to his race!
