Fiddlers Bows Out
Fiddlers Bow bowed out as a racehorse yesterday when he was officially retired following his run at Wetherby on Tuesday.
Having travelled strongly & raced with enthusiasm for much of the race, he thankfully walked away from his fall at the fourth last fence – only the second time in a 45 race career, spanning seven years, that he had failed to put in a clear round of jumping; ironically his only previous fall coming in his first ever chase under rules back in 2014!
Fiddlers joined us from Ireland in February 2018 and over the last three years he has given his owners Mervyn Buckley (in whose colours he runs) and the Brough Farm Racing Partnership some brilliant days out, posting nine first-4 placings (including two memorable wins at Ayr) from 13 runs.
This very special 12 year old will stay with us in the yard and the plan is to do some Retraining of Racehorse events with him.
Wishing you a long & happy retirement Fiddlers Bow – thanks for the memories.
1st day of retirement!
